Working on Sound

This past week, I competed at STN! It gave me so much first-hand experience, and I felt the need to share it. On my first day of competing, my role was to work on sound, so I held the boom mic and focused on the important parts of the scene. Though the job was painful at times (lol), it did give me more insight into how important this element of film is.

For my brief, I was unable to obtain a boom mic, so to address this, I will use Voice Memos to capture sound more closely. Melodramas build tension in the audience by keeping scenes often quiet and more dialogue-heavy, so when filming, I will keep my background as quiet as I can!
